The agreement establishes an economic partnership between the UK and Vietnam and a comprehensive free trade area. It maintains the effects of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement.

The UK-Vietnam agreement covers:

  • trade in goods – including provisions on preferential tariffs, tariff rate quotas and rules of origin
  • sanitary and phytosanitary measures
  • intellectual property, including geographical indications
  • sustainability
  • government procurement
