ALFED CEO Nadine Bloxsome and Industry & Skills Development Manager Rachel Wiffen are attending the CRU World Aluminium Summit at Savoy Place, joining global leaders to explore what’s next for aluminium.

The opening session by CRU's Paul Williams highlighted a clear message: short-term volatility continues, but the long-term fundamentals for aluminium remain exceptionally strong.

Key themes shaping the discussion:
✅ Strong demand growth from the global energy transition
⚡ Rapid electrification across EVs, grids, solar & storage
🇨🇳 China’s shift toward clean technology sectors
♻️ Rising importance of recycled aluminium in supply chains
🏗️ New smelting investment across Europe, North America & the Middle East

Aluminium is emerging as a critical enabler of global decarbonisation and industrial transformation.

With ALFED actively engaged throughout the summit, the focus remains on strengthening the UK aluminium sector through skills, resilience, and sustainable growth.

Nadine and Rachel continue the summit over the coming days, with Rachel also joining a key panel on CBAM and what it means in practice for businesses across the value chain.
