OPC (Origin Powder Coating) is now offering its powder coating expertise to new industries and markets.
In terms of testimonials, one needn’t look much further than the namesake of Origin. The luxury door and window manufacturer began as a family business in 2002. Fast forward nearly 25 years and it’s become the most recognisable brand in the fenestration and home renovation industry.
With its family heritage rooted in design excellence, expert craftsmanship and elite engineering, those same values can be seen and felt throughout OPC.
Driven by innovation and the quest for perfection, OPC was born when Origin Doors and Windows sought end-to-end control of its product quality. The one process that sat outside of its control was the powder coated finish, and so came the investment.
The result was a £3 million, purpose-built 64,000ft² facility, created to push the boundaries of industry norms.
Designed to Elevate
Exceptional finishes demand exceptional processes. That’s why every element of OPC’s state-of-the-art facility has been designed around quality, consistency and precision.
Quality control begins before materials even reach the production floor, with a dedicated hygiene room to minimise particle contamination and an on-site laboratory which conducts ongoing quality and colour accuracy testing.
Then, once in, the scale of the operation becomes clear.
An on-site linishing machine removes scratches and surface imperfections, helping reduce waste while maximising usable material. Components then undergo an industry-leading 10-stage pre-treatment process, thoroughly cleaning the surface of any contaminants and ensuring it’s optimised to receive a flawless powder application.
Items then pass through one of two high-capacity booths, each boasting 16 guns for optimal coverage and consistency.
Once cured and cooled, OPC’s capabilities extend beyond coating itself. Lengths can be joined together using a thermal break, while finished items can be taped and placed into bespoke packaging solutions to help protect them throughout transportation.
