The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) pleased to announce that the deadline for our fifth research survey has been extended until Friday 29th August 2025. This extension follows slower than usual engagement due to the summer holiday period and widespread summer shutdowns across the UK aluminium sector.

Having successfully completed our fourth survey, DBT are now moving into the fifth phase of their ongoing research series, which focuses on international competitiveness and trade. This new survey is designed to gain insights into how Energy Intensive Industries (EIIs) are performing globally. It aims to identify the specific challenges your business faces in international markets and gather your views on practical, high-impact opportunities where government support could make a tangible difference.
Your input is crucial. By sharing your experiences and ideas, you help shape policies that better support the UK’s EII sectors in remaining competitive on the global stage.
The survey is now live and will remain open until the extended deadline for submissions set at Friday 29th August 2025.
