The general objective of the AluVET Project is to enhance and elevate the proficiencies of metal technology professional educators and students with a specific focus on the light metals sector, particularly aluminium. This project aims to address the evolving needs of the industry by providing a new industry-oriented training program that supports the existing curriculum.
The Training Contents
The studies conducted by partner organisations in Turkey (FSMVU), Greece (IED) and theUnited Kingdom (ALFED) revealed that companies in the aluminium industry face challenges in recruiting qualified employees, particularly for processes like extrusion, welding, moulding, casting, rolling, and façade. To address this, the project developed a curriculum focusing onBasic Metal Skills (extrusion, welding, rolling, and façade), Occupational Health and Safety(for extrusion, welding, and rolling), and Quality (for extrusion, welding, and rolling) to provide blue-collar workers with the necessary skills and knowledge required by the industry. The analysis also emphasised the importance of digital skills and soft skills, including Basic DigitalSkills, Digital Security, Digital Literacy, Data Literacy, Business Ethics, Good Communication, Commitment, Dependability, Motivation, Management Skills and Leadership, to enhance employees’ technical competency, professionalism, and adaptability in the fast-evolving digital landscape. These training programs aim to equip blue-collar employees with the necessary technical competencies and professional ethics, ensuring their adaptability and effectiveness in the industry.
