TWI News: Revolutionise your Additive Manufacturing - The Aluminium Federation

Revolutionising Aluminium Additive Manufacturing Additive manufacturing has become an integral part of many industries, including those working with aluminium, such as the aerospace or space industries.

TWI has been working with industry for decades to help improve processes and procedures, address challenges, and deliver industrial research and solutions, including assisting with the development of additive manufacturing capabilities. This includes ongoing studies into the use of an innovative coaxial beam and wire feed additive manufacturing system that removes alignment issues and improves productivity through high deposition rates. As it uses an electron beam set-up, the system delivers clean AM parts in a vacuum environment, to produce fine equiaxed grains that offer improved mechanical performance for built components.

You can find out more about this system and its capabilities, including a video explaining how it works, here: https://www.twi-global.com/media-and-events/press-releases/2024/revolutionise-your-additive-manufacturing-with-twi
