TWI Ltd would like to let our partners at ALFED know about two flagship events taking place in 2026. Firstly, from 19-21 May, 2026, TWI will be holding The International Friction Welding Conference (IFWC) at our headquarters near Cambridge.

TWI News: Calendar of Events for 2026 - The Aluminium Federation

This is a newly combined international event designed for researchers, engineers and industry professionals with an interest in friction welding. IFWC will combine the 14th International Symposium on Friction Stir Welding and the 6th International Symposium on Linear Friction Welding to cover a broad range of friction joining and processing techniques.

In addition, TWI will be holding the Welding, Joining and Manufacturing Conference and Exhibition (WeldJoinExpo 2026) on 7-8 July, 2026 – again at their headquarters near Cambridge. This free-to-attend event will bring together experts and professionals from across industry for keynote speeches, presentations, and industry workshops, including valued input from bodies including Make UK and Make UK Defence, the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI), and the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA). There will also be an exhibition from TWI and Make UK Members during the two days.

Both of these events promise to be of interest to ALFED members – you can find out more about both of these events, here:
