Energy
From supply chain to production to recycling, energy management is key to cost-efficient and sustainable operations.
Energy management is a crucial element of aluminium production processes – and as the voice of the industry, we’re at the forefront when it comes to advocating energy policies that are both practical and sustainable.
Europe-wide, the aluminium industry has reduced its electricity consumption by more than one-third since the 1950s, and by continuing in this direction, we can optimise both our own costs as well as the costs associated with the supply chains we’re part of.
Our energy management consultancy service, available to all members, has been active helping in this regard. This includes supporting with Climate Change Agreement energy rebates – a vital service particularly for smaller members who don’t have in-house experts in this area. We’re also in regular contact with government, the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Aluminium and European Aluminium to help inform future policy on climate change and energy.
We offer a range of services that help the UK aluminium industry become more competitive, including technical support, training and lobbying.
As a member of the Aluminium Federation, you benefit from a range of services that help you develop your business, workforce and supply chain.
We offer a range of training – both through proven courses and bespoke programmes. Training is available to anyone, with discounts for Aluminium Federation members.
