We’re proud to share that BOAL UK Ltd has officially been awarded the Environmental & Social Value (ESV) Certification – a new standard that highlights what we’ve been doing for years: contributing to a more sustainable, responsible and resilient UK-manufacturing sector.
Developed by Made in Britain in collaboration with MAP UK & International, the certification recognises our efforts across people, planet and place. From 100% local employment to working with recycled content aluminium and supporting local communities – we’re building value that goes beyond the product.
Why this certification matters
In a market where sustainability and social impact are increasingly central – especially in public procurement – the ESV Certification helps us communicate our contribution with clarity. Not as a promise for tomorrow, but as proof of what we’re already doing today.

What we’re contributing
Ever since we proudly began extruding on British soil, we’ve kept our focus sharp: on the environment, our social responsibilities, and strong governance. Today, those principles are still embedded in every decision we make.
Carbon reduction
We select high-quality billets and optimise our extrusion process using:
- 100% renewable electricity
- plant-based cutting fluid
- smart energy management across our operations
Waste diversion
We’ve reduced non-aluminium landfill waste to under 1% and we’re committed to closed-loop recycling within the UK supply chain. Every scrap counts.
UK sourcing
We source and produce locally, ensuring short lead times, close collaboration, and a lower environmental footprint. Better for our customers, and better for the planet.
