Jenks & Cattell Engineering has been recognised for its outstanding contribution to the manufacturing sector, securing the SME of the Year award at the prestigious North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA) Awards.

The ceremony, held in Durham, brought together key figures from across the automotive and off-highway industries to celebrate innovation, collaboration and excellence. A cross-functional team from Jenks & Cattell Engineering attended the event to accept the award and accompanying cheque, marking a significant milestone for the business.
Marketing Manager Eleanor Imray praised the achievement, highlighting the collective effort behind the recognition. She said: “It is an achievement that reflects collective effort and dedication across the business, in times of uncertainty across the industry as a whole. There is a lot of competition in our world of metal fabrication, and we are extremely proud to receive this award. It highlights the importance of partnerships, people, and continuous improvement in driving success.”
Based at its manufacturing facility in Wolverhampton, Jenks & Cattell Engineering supplies high-quality metal pressings and welded assemblies to leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. Despite its Midlands base, the company has developed long-standing relationships with partners across the North East, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the region’s thriving automotive sector.
The award recognises not only the company’s technical expertise and manufacturing excellence, but also its strategic collaboration with partners throughout the North East. A long-standing member of the NEAA, the business continues to invest in its manufacturing processes to remain a trusted supplier in an increasingly competitive and evolving industry.

As part of the award, Jenks & Cattell Engineering received a £1,000 cheque, which will be donated to two local schools to support STEM initiatives. The contribution reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to nurturing future talent and inspiring the next generation of engineers.
This latest recognition reinforces Jenks & Cattell Engineering’s position as a key player in the UK automotive supply chain, while underlining its dedication to supporting the industry’s continued growth. The company now looks ahead to further strengthening its presence within the North East automotive community and continuing its collaboration with the NEAA.
