As the UK provider of geological information and knowledge, The British Geological Survey (BGS) must constantly adapt to meet the needs of a changing world. Their current strategy, ‘Gateway to the Earth’, comes to an end in 2023 and over the last year they have undertaken a major programme of consultation with staff and stakeholders to inform the development of a new strategy. The new Strategy refreshes their focus and sets out our priorities for the next 5+ years.

They are now ready to begin the process of wider consultation on the draft Strategy.

They welcome and encourage responses from anyone interested or involved in the geosciences, either as an individual, organisation or group. You can submit your feedback via the link to the consultation form below.

The public consultation will close midday on the 14 December 2022. They will review and analyse responses and produce a summary which will be available on the BGS website at the end of the consultation period. They expect to publish their new strategy in spring 2023.
