Special Guest Speaker

Aluminium Federation Business Briefing and Annual Dinner: An Unmissable Event - The Aluminium Federation

We are also thrilled to announce that this year’s event will feature a special after dinner guest speaker: renowned former politician and Strictly star, Ed Balls. With a wealth of experience and insights into current affairs, politics, and industry trends, Ed Balls will undoubtedly add a whole new dimension of knowledge and perspective to this year’s ALFED event.

Ed was formerly the UK Economic Secretary and Minister for Financial Services from 2006-2007, and the Chief Economic Adviser to the UK Treasury from 1997-2004, during which time he was the Chair of the International Monetary Fund Deputies and UK G20 Deputy.

Away from Westminster, Ed is still an economist and British Labour Party politician. He is the Senior Fellow at Harvard University Kennedy School’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and Visiting Professor to the Policy Institute at King’s College London. He also actively blogs and writes speeches on the issues affecting the current economic climate.

After a day filled with valuable information, enlightening discussions and thought-provoking speeches, attendees can then look forward to an exquisite black-tie evening dinner.

We look forward to welcoming you to the event to celebrate the industry, foster innovation and discuss how collaboratively we can drive the sector in the ever-evolving landscape of aluminium production and processing.
