The final Distribution Sector Group meeting of the year was held over Teams on the 24th November.

Attendees were treated to a presentation from the LME’s Vice President, Sustainability, Hugo Brodie, who outlined the benefits of the LME Passport and explained how the service provides a single-point utility to all metal participants.

Hugo also presented a number of enhancements to the platform, such as new certifications, increasing the number of LME brands using the LME Passport and a brand new, user-friendly web page showcasing producer sustainability credentials and producer information. The Distribution Sector Group will continue to keep a vested interest in the provisional PAD action in place and is waiting for definitive action, which was expected before the end of November, but was noted that a decision will now not likely be made until into December.

The next meeting will take place on the 23rd February and will be held at the beautiful Arden Hotel and followed by an informal dinner. Please reserve your places or register your interest in attending here: https://alfed.org.uk/eb-events/aluminium-distribution-sector-group-3/
