Vertik-Al, the UK’s market leading independent powder coater, is celebrating 25 years as a QUALICOAT approved coating applicator after successfully passing its latest third-party inspection.
The Birmingham-based business was awarded the quality label in January proving conformity with QUALICOAT 2024 specifications. It is also one of a handful of approved members to offer QUALICOAT Seaside class powder coating, suitable for exposed sites.
The first licensed applicator
As the first QUALICOAT UK and Ireland licensed applicator in 1999, Vertik-Al has helped set the standard for other coating applicators and has raised awareness of the quality label amongst specifiers operating in a wide range of industries.
The QUALICOAT specification is regularly updated following evidence-based research and generally exceeds the BS EN 12206 specification for powder coating. Therefore, specifiers and clients are assured of powder coating best practice when they opt to work with an approved applicator.

In recent years, Vertik-Al has invested significantly in plant, equipment, and training to further enhance its service and coating performance. This year, the company’s six-figure investment will include a new dry-off oven and upgraded pre-treatment tanks for its three horizontal lines.
