The aluminium recycling plant in Wrexham was recognised as best-in-class at the company’s global leadership conference in Stavanger, Norway for achieving sustainable and profitable growth through product innovation.

“This is a great recognition of the entire Wrexham plant and Hydro team. We have pioneered in aluminium scrap optimisation, leading the way in digging deeper into the scrap pile enabling us to create value-added products for our customers,” said Wayne Clifton, Managing Director at Hydro Wrexham.

Hydro Wrexham won the award because of continuous improvement work on maximising the potential within scrap optimisation, leading to excellent financial results in 2022. This performance was built on the foundation of safety and systematic work processes which also led to Hydro Wrexham passing 2000 days accident free within the same year, proving that strong safety performance and financial results go hand in hand.
