2024 has already been a busy one for the RiA Cast House Engineering team. They have installed their first rail mounted furnace charging and skimming machines of the year, RiA’s reference base now includes over 80 machines installed in Cast Houses all over the world, with many more to come in 2024!

Speaking on the new equipment, Sales and Marketing Manager, James Tomkinson commented: “Each machine is an extremely advanced solution and will operate autonomously, without the requirement of an operator and additionally the Skimming Machine will operate with IFDP (In-Furnace Dross Processing). RiA are actually replacing another RiA machine installed in the Cast House 20 years ago, we estimate that during the machines 20-year lifetime that the machine has charged over 1,000,000 tonnes of Aluminium into the melting furnace, aiding in the safe and efficient production of recycled aluminium products. Our site team have commissioned the replacement Furnace Charging Machine and a new Furnace Skimming Machine, both of which will operate autonomously, with no operator required to be on the machine during operation”.
