The Smart Manufacturing Data Hub (SMDH) project is a collaboration of 12 major UK institutions, involving industry bodies, universities and engineering specialists, and funded by the UK government. The goal is to provide completely free digital sensors, dashboards and access to data specialists for domestic companies to improve operational understanding and increase productivity.

What support is provided?
The University of Cambridge is offering free industrial IoT sensors which can help companies begin monitoring factors including machine power consumption, temperature, air quality, humidity, and job tracking, who might not have the time or resources to invest in otherwise. The sensors are lightweight, non-intrusive, and easy to use.
They are Wi-Fi enabled and can stream the information to monitor anywhere on the same network, the data can also then be passed to data specialists at the University of Edinburgh to help extract and display exactly what you are looking for in personalised dashboards.
