Innoval Technology, in collaboration with the Aluminium Federation (ALFED), is pleased to announce its upcoming Innoval Technology Open Day, taking place on Tuesday 19th May 2026 at its state-of-the-art facility in Rotherham.

This exclusive event is open to ALFED members only, offering a unique opportunity for industry professionals to gain insight into the latest advancements in aluminium innovation, while strengthening connections across the UK aluminium sector.
Running from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the Open Day will feature a dynamic programme designed to inform, engage, and connect attendees. The event will begin with a welcome session and industry insight briefing, providing an overview of key trends shaping the aluminium sector, including developments in recycling, decarbonisation, and applications in automotive and aerospace markets.
Managing Director of Innoval Technology, Mike Clinch commented: “We are delighted to welcome ALFED members to our new state‑of‑the‑art facility. This open day reflects Innoval’s commitment to collaboration, building on decades of industry experience through cutting-edge technology, innovation and sustainability.”
Attendees will then be invited to take part in guided laboratory tours and live technical demonstrations, showcasing Innoval’s expertise in aluminium alloy metallurgy and manufacturing. Visitors will experience first-hand demonstrations of advanced materials characterisation techniques such as SEM/EDX analysis, metallography, and performance testing, alongside digital demonstrations of process modelling and simulation tools used to optimise rolling, thermal processing, and alloy performance.

A dedicated sustainability and life cycle assessment (LCA) segment will highlight practical approaches to reducing environmental impact, including carbon footprint measurement, scrap optimisation strategies, and energy efficiency improvements—areas of increasing importance across the aluminium industry.
In addition to the technical programme, the event will offer valuable networking opportunities, including dedicated time for attendees to engage directly with Innoval’s experts through pre-bookable one-to-one sessions. These discussions will enable participants to explore specific technical challenges and opportunities relevant to their organisations.
CEO of ALFED, Nadine Bloxsome added: “Events such as this are critical in strengthening the UK’s aluminium capability. By connecting industry with leading technical expertise, we can accelerate innovation, improve competitiveness and support the sector’s transition towards a more sustainable and resilient future.”
The Open Day will conclude with closing remarks from Innoval and ALFED, followed by a networking lunch.
This collaborative, members-only event reflects the shared commitment of Innoval Technology and ALFED to support innovation, knowledge-sharing, and sustainability across the UK aluminium sector.
