In collaboration with ALFED, The Welding Institute (TWI) held a one-day workshop at their headquarters in Cambridge.
Over 60 ALFED & TWI members arrived at the advanced manufacturing workshop for sessions on surfacing and joining know-how for aluminium and how such developments can offer both technical and commercial manufacturing advantages.
As well as presentations, networking opportunities and a tour of TWI’s facilities, attendees were able to benefit from an interactive session and one to one discussions with experts.
ALFED & TWI Collaboration
In May 2018 TWI signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ALFED to capitalise on the synergies presented by the strengths of both organisations.
The strategic partnership aims to deliver exchange of information through a range of events, collaborative projects and training opportunities. There is a broader remit to help enable industrial users realise the benefits of adopting Aluminium in their materials mix, through technical excellence and awareness.
