Aluminium voyage of Discovery

Land Rover's recently-launched Discovery has already gathered orders of nearly 20,000 worldwide, according to JLR. The brand new seven-seater has shed weight too. Its single-cell body is 85 per cent aluminium, of which 43 per cent is recycled, making it nearly half a tonne (480kg) lighter than the previous steel-bodied fourth generation vehicle. School visit a Real success

Record year for SAS

2016 proved to be the best year ever for Yorkshire-based aluminium window, door and curtain wall systems manufacturer Senior Architectural Systems, according to Managing Director Mark Wadsworth. "The strength of the UK construction industry was borne out at Senior, with 2016 proving our busiest year to date. At our financial year end in June, sales were up 11% on 2015 at £27.2 million.
