Sapa Profiles UK has won Gold award at the RoSPA Health & Safety Awards 2017. Sapa achieved the award at the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
The award will be presented during the ceremony on Thursday 14th September 2017 in Glasgow by RoSPA. It has been a special year for family-safety charity, as they are celebrating their centenary. Through their RoSPA awards scheme, the judges will be able to consider entrants overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. These awards are now in their 61st year and are open to business and organisations of all types and sizes across the UK and overseas.
Most of these awards are non-competitive and mainly mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, presidents award and orders of distinction are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years. Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors including construction, healthcare, transport, logistics, engineering, manufacturing and education.

UK Regional EHS Manager, Ian Bould said: “The EHS performance of Sapa Profiles UK improved significantly from 2014 to 2015 and with the focus of the UK management team saw 2016 as the milestone year for continued safety improvement with zero lost working days recorded relating to injury. This achievement was recognised by the business in January 2017 where Sapa Profiles UK awarded the Sapa European Presidents award for improved safety performance over this period. Our focus into 2017 remains focused with a drive to continue to improve on safety performance and to protect the wellbeing of all our employees. We are over the moon with the RoSPA Gold award and will continue to push boundaries through EHS initiatives and goal setting. Health and Safety is in everything that we do. We hope to continue the theme and produce Gold again for 2017 performance.”
